Experienced people know how to deliver projects; however, problems arise when their usual methods do not produce the necessary results, and the reflex that turns people to pre-determined solutions from text books often fail to deliver, because there is usually a chasm between theory and how people actually work.
The concept that underpins our design is to ask people the question “what problem does the business want solved, or what opportunity does it want to grasp?” Once this is clear we can determine the characteristics of a solution, design the systems, and employ technology to make the solution possible.
People keep popping up in our concept of design. The answers often lie with the people that do the work, or those who experience the effect of the work. We do not limit our investigations to questions such as “what do you want?” rather we observe, and seek out direct experience so that we can reveal undeclared requirements. This approach brings forth more options that can be quickly honed down to practical solutions and has allowed us to give our clients a great leap in capability.
Our design does not end with the development of a solution, because we know that even the strongest ideas flounder in an organisation without the appropriate support and encouragement. We design the implementation phase to ensure; commitment from senior management, a successful transition from pilot to full operation, dissemination of knowledge and skills throughout the organisation, strong leadership aligned to the solution, and advocates positioned at critical points throughout the organisation.
In short; our concept of design revolves around people, and the only successful project is one that is in the world with people experiencing the benefit.
